Port City are champions of the Access Bank Division One League Zone Three after edging WAFA SC 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on Matchday 28.

The victory confirmed what had looked inevitable: Port City’s historic promotion to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League. The club had already secured qualification with three games to spare but showed no complacency in front of their home fans.
WAFA SC struck first in the 12th minute through Sylvester Henyo. Port City hit back quickly, with Kedzie Korblah Junior converting a penalty to level the score. Alex Boateng then put the hosts in front before captain Hamza Zakaria made it 3-1 on 61 minutes.

Melchizedek Frimpong gave WAFA hope with a 76th-minute goal, but Port City held firm to spark title celebrations at the final whistle.
The win extends Port City’s lead at the top of Zone Three and caps a landmark season for the club, which will compete in the Ghana Premier League for the first time in its history.
