Asante Kotoko’s title hopes took a hit as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions in Kpando on Saturday, failing to capitalize on Medeama’s earlier slip-up.

Heart of Lions dominated the first half, with Seedorf Asante and Fawzi Ali scoring to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. Kotoko’s Samba O’Neil pulled one back in the second half, but Michael Ephson’s goal sealed a deserved win for Lions.

The defeat leaves Kotoko third, eight points off leaders Medeama, with Hearts of Oak closing in. Heart of Lions climb to seventh on 30 points, hoping to build on this momentum.

Dreams FC surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Vision FC in Tema Newtown. John Antwi scored twice for Dreams, but Vision FC fought back to equalize through Nana Kwesi Amoah and Sherif Mohammed Iddrisu’s late strike.
