The 6th edition of the PruRide, a flagship cycling event organized by Prudential Life Insurance Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Cycling Federation, was launched on June 27, 2025, at the Prudential Life Insurance headquarters. The main event is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Black Star Square.

Jane Dornukuor Mingle, CEO of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, emphasized the importance of sustainability and well-being.

“It is with great pride that we launch the 6th edition of PRURIDE—our flagship cycling event that goes beyond sport. PRURIDE is a symbol of our commitment to building a healthier Ghana and a more sustainable future,” she said.

Mingle added, “At Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, we understand that protecting lives means more than offering policies—it means promoting lifestyles that enhance well-being and protect our planet. We are embedding sustainability into the heart of our operations by investing in electric vehicles and supporting green community initiatives.”

Mingle encouraged stakeholders to embrace cycling as a regular part of life. “This year, we ride not just for fitness, but for the future. Let’s pedal with purpose, lead with vision, and inspire change.”

Shaaban Mohammed, Secretary General of the Ghana Cycling Federation, expressed gratitude to Prudential Life Insurance Ghana for their support. “This year’s event has been very good, and it’s going to be very good because we have the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, who will add value to the event.”

Mohammed revealed that the winner of the 5th edition used the prize money to buy land, highlighting the impact of the event on participants’ lives.

Richard Akpokavie Esq., President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, emphasized the importance of values and empowerment. “There are two things I’d like to emphasize: putting athletes first and empowerment of women. All these young people, their lives can change because of what you are doing today.”

Akpokavie added, “Olympism is about changing the world through education and culture, mainly, and the values are excellence, respect, and teamwork. If we rely on these values, we can change the way Ghana looks now.”
