In a recent interview, the President of the Ghana Hockey Association, Dr. Ben K.D. Asante, provided insightful commentary on the ongoing Salpholda League and shared his vision for the future of hockey in Ghana.
Speaking with a group of journalists, the president expressed his enthusiasm for the current season of the Salpholda League. He noted, “The league this year has been nothing short of spectacular. The level of competition has significantly risen, showcasing the immense talent we have in Ghana.”
Despite the positive atmosphere, the president acknowledged several challenges facing the sport. He cited issues such as insufficient infrastructure and the need for increased funding. “We are facing some hurdles, particularly with our facilities and financial resources,” he explained. “However, we are working tirelessly to overcome these barriers and elevate the sport.”

Mr. Asante also emphasised the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders. “To achieve our goals, we need the support of the government, private sector, and international hockey bodies. It’s a collective effort,” he remarked.
