President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation, Mr. Frederick Lartey Otu, has commended the 2026 GTF Vetting and Election Committee for conducting a successful, free and fair elective congress at the Media Centre, Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking in his victory speech after being re-elected for another term, Otu said the work of the independent committee was crucial to the credibility of the entire process.

“On behalf of the Ghana Taekwondo Executive Board, I would like to thank you all for this successful exercise. We know that it will not be easy for the vetting and election committee, what they went through. So, we cannot say this without giving them special recognition. Vetting and Election Committee, we thank you.”
The independent Vetting and Election Committee was inaugurated on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Ghana Olympic Committee Board Room and it was chaired by Mr. Lawrence Osei-Boateng, Esq. of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
Other members of the committee were:
- Mr. Mohammed Muniru Kassim, Esq. – GOC Secretary General
- Mr. Hussein Akueteh Addy – National Sports Authority
- Ms. Cynthia Wintima – Secretary to the Committee
The committee was mandated to conduct a free, fair and transparent election with a deadline of July 18, 2026. According to the GTF President, the committee delivered “perfectly” on that mandate. They also ensured that all concerns and issues raised by stakeholders were addressed prior to the election of new leaders.
The successful congress saw new executives elected to steer the affairs of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation for the next four years.
