Former Black Stars midfielder Godwin Attram has been appointed as Assistant Coach of the Black Stars, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced.
Attram joins the technical team as a replacement for Desmond Ofei, who will now focus fully on his role as head coach of Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors.
The change forms part of the GFA’s new technical direction as the Black Stars prepare for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other international assignments.
According to the GFA, Attram brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the technical team. He previously worked as head coach of Accra Great Olympics and has also been involved with several of Ghana’s national youth teams.
The former PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF playmaker is also known for his work in player development and his modern approach to football, having co-founded the Attram De Visser Soccer Academy in Sowutuom.
Attram’s appointment comes at a crucial time, with the Black Stars set to begin their 2027 AFCON qualification campaign against Cote d’Ivoire on September 24, before facing The Gambia on September 29 and a friendly against Morocco on October 4.
