Godfred Opoku stormed into the Men’s 400m final at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, after a brilliant run in the semi-finals on Friday.

The Ghanaian quarter-miler finished 3rd in Semi-Final 2 with a time of 45.91 seconds to automatically secure his place in the championship final.

It was another statement performance from the young star, who continues to raise the Ghanaian flag high against the best junior athletes in the world.

Opoku showed composure and speed down the home straight to hold off the chasing pack and punch his ticket to the final. His 45.91sec clocking marks him as one of the fastest U20 400m runners in the world this year.
