betPawa and the Ghana Football Association have renewed their partnership in a deal that will extend the company’s popular Locker Room Bonus to both the Black Stars and Black Queens as Ghana’s top national teams prepare for major tournaments.

The agreement was signed on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Best Western Premier Hotel, Airport, Accra, with senior officials from the GFA, betPawa executives, and key football stakeholders in attendance.

The renewal deepens a relationship that has already seen betPawa invest heavily in Ghana football, particularly through its direct player reward program in the Ghana Premier League and Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

The timing is crucial. The Black Stars are ramping up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while the Black Queens are preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Locker Room Bonus will reward players with instant financial bonuses after victories, a model betPawa says is designed to boost motivation and professionalism.

“Football is one of Ghana’s greatest unifiers,” said Borah Omary Ndanyungu, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at betPawa. “Every time the Black Stars or Black Queens step onto the pitch, millions of dreams travel with them. Our role is not simply to sponsor football, but to stand behind those dreams and help create the conditions for success.”

Ndanyungu added that the move reflects betPawa’s belief in football’s wider impact: “This support reflects our belief that when Ghanaian football wins, the entire nation moves forward together.”

GFA Vice-President Mark Addo welcomed the renewed partnership, calling betPawa one of the strongest private-sector allies in Ghana football.

“We are especially delighted by betPawa’s latest support package of locker room bonuses for the Black Stars and Black Queens,” Addo said. “This timely investment arrives as the Black Stars intensify preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualification campaign and our Black Queens gear up for WAFCON. This support undoubtedly provides a major boost to our collective aspirations.”

He praised the Locker Room Bonus for changing the culture in Ghana’s domestic leagues: “This intervention has not only offered tangible financial support to players but has also reinforced professionalism, competitiveness, and dedication within our domestic game.”

Addo stressed that the GFA values partners who create real change beyond branding: “Football thrives when institutions and corporate partners work hand in hand. The Ghana Football Association deeply values partnerships that go beyond visibility and branding to make meaningful impact where it matters most — on the pitch, in the locker room, and in the lives of our players.”

The GFA Vice-President closed by thanking betPawa for its long-term belief in Ghana football: “Your support reflects belief – belief in the potential of Ghanaian footballers, belief in our national teams, and belief in Ghana’s capacity to excel on both continental and global stages.”

With the Black Stars chasing a World Cup spot and the Black Queens targeting continental glory, betPawa’s renewed backing adds both financial and motivational firepower to Ghana’s campaign.
