Medeama SC extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League table with a 2-1 comeback win over Berekum Chelsea, while Hohoe United shocked giants Asante Kotoko with a 1-0 victory.
Medeama’s win, courtesy of Jacob Mensah Amu and Salim Adams’ goals, puts them two points clear of Aduana FC, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Basake Holy Stars. Karela United also enjoyed a successful day, defeating Hearts of Oak 2-0 in Tamale.
Other results saw Vision FC held to a goalless draw by Young Apostles, while FC Samartex 1996 claimed a 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars. Dreams FC bounced back from a previous defeat with a 2-1 win over Bechem United.
Hohoe United’s 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko was the standout result of the day, with William Oduro’s superb free-kick securing back-to-back wins for the home side. Kotoko remain in 5th place, but their title hopes took a hit.
