The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has constituted a three-member Disciplinary Committee to handle disciplinary matters within the federation.
The committee, appointed by the GTF Executive Board, is chaired by lawyer Lawrence Osei-Boateng, with Prof. Reuben Tamakloe and Rev. Nicholas Broni serving as members.
The move forms part of the federation’s efforts to strengthen discipline, accountability and good governance across Ghanaian Taekwondo.
In a notice issued on September 29, the GTF said the committee would consider disciplinary matters referred to it by the appropriate authority of the federation.
Its work will be guided by the GTF Constitution, applicable World Taekwondo rules and regulations, as well as relevant federation policies and procedures.
The federation said all Member Regional Associations (MRAs), clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and other members are expected to cooperate with the committee in the discharge of its mandate.
It further stressed that disciplinary matters should be handled with fairness, impartiality, confidentiality, integrity and due process.
GTF Secretary General, Kankpenuba Peter Nuntaa Wisdom, said the federation was looking forward to the committee’s contribution to maintaining standards within the sport.
“The GTF Executive Board congratulates the appointed members and looks forward to their dedicated service towards promoting discipline, accountability and good governance within Ghanaian Taekwondo,” he said.
The federation has directed all MRA chairpersons and secretaries to circulate the notice to their respective clubs, coaches, athletes, officials and members.
