Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Ghanaian media for their unwavering support and constructive engagement.

Speaking at a press soiree in Accra, Okraku emphasized the need for continued collaboration to advance football development in the country.
Reflecting on the past year, Okraku acknowledged the challenges faced by the Black Stars, including their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. However, he highlighted the team’s resurgence, dominating their group to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He also celebrated the Black Queens’ impressive third-place finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the Black Starlets’ qualification for the 2026 Africa U-17 Championship.
Okraku noted the significant growth of the Ghana Premier League, citing improvements in finances, television coverage, and fan appeal. He attributed this success to the “Power to the Youth” policy, which has produced promising talent nationwide.
The GFA President reiterated the association’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with the media, recognizing their crucial role in promoting transparency, accountability, and progress within Ghanaian football. “The Football Association will continue to engage the media as an important partner in the advancement of the game,” he affirmed.
The press soiree concluded with an interactive session, where members of the media shared perspectives on the growth of Ghanaian football, reinforcing a shared vision for a vibrant and united football community.
