Ghana Rugby Gets Fresh Start with Newly Elected Executives

The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has ushered in a new leadership team, following its Elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Labadi Beach Hotel’s Manye Conference Room. The newly elected leaders will manage the affairs of the union for the next four years.

At the helm of the new leadership is President Rafatu Inusah, who was elected unopposed. Inusah, a former athlete, coach, and administrator, expressed her gratitude to the stakeholders for their trust. She emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating that the new executives will work tirelessly to raise the standard of Ghana Rugby to the highest level.

The newly elected leaders include:

  • President: Rafatu Inusah
  • Vice President: Emmanuel Bamfi
  • General Secretary: Mr. Sacut Amenga-Etego
  • Treasurer: Mr. Abdul Saeed Samed
  • Ghana Rugby Player Welfare Association: Christian Percy Adamson
  • Women’s Representative: Anita Atieku
  • Four Board Members: Prince Kwaku Boamah, Sacut Amenga Ettego, Emmanuel Kalos, and Abdul Samed Said
  • General Manager: Mr. Samura Mensah
  • Judicial Officer: Mr. Kwesi Dadze-Yorke
  • Tournament Commissioner: Mr. Salisu Abdul Rahman
  • Deputy Tournament Commissioner:  Dennis Clement
  • Director of Corporate Communications: Rachel Ankomah

The newly appointed Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah, attended the event, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting rugby’s growth in Ghana. He highlighted the importance of effective governance, transparency, and accountability in sports development.

The elective General Assembly was observed by senior observers, including World Rugby’s Dave Gilbert and Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the acting director-general of the National Sports Authority. The election process was supervised by Mrs. Gladys Pinkrah, the regional director of the Electoral Commission (EC) Greater Accra Region.
