The Ghana Police Service has interdicted DSP Alhassan Malaika Jibril over his alleged role in the demolition of facilities at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, DCOP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Police Administration said the interdiction is to facilitate investigations.
“The Police Administration has interdicted DSP Mr Alhassan Malaika Jibril for his involvement in a demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman on Saturday, 22nd August 2026,” the statement said.
The Police Service says the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) are jointly investigating the matter.
“Anyone found culpable will be taken through the due process of the law.”
The investigation is expected to determine whether there were breaches of law, procedure or professional ethics.
