Asante Kotoko SC have expressed disappointment with their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, finishing 8th in a season the club says fell “far below the standards, expectations, and ambitions” of the Porcupine Warriors.

In an official statement released on 26th May 2026, the Board and Management acknowledged that the season’s performance was “one to forget” and apologized to supporters for the frustration caused.
“This outcome falls far below the standards, expectations, and ambitions of our great club,” the statement read. “As a result, decisive measures will be taken to ensure the club returns to the level befitting its rich history and stature.”
The club thanked its loyal fans for their unwavering support throughout the campaign, noting that their commitment “remain the backbone of this club.” Kotoko also reaffirmed their commitment to restoring the club to the summit of Ghanaian and African football, pledging to build a stronger, more competitive team.
“We remain committed to building a stronger and a more competitive team capable of delivering the successes our supporters deserve,” the Board said. The statement ended with the club’s rallying call: “Wokum Apem A, Apem Beba. Together we shall rise again.”
Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs, will now look to regroup ahead of the 2026/27 season as they aim to bounce back from a campaign that failed to meet fan expectations.
