Ghana Boxing Authority Sets June 4 Election Date, Releases Filing Fees for 2026 Polls

The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) has announced the official roadmap for the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) 2026 elections, setting Thursday, June 4, 2026, as the date for the Elective Extraordinary Congress.

The congress will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Accra Sports Stadium, according to a notice signed by GBIMC Chairman Samir Captan and issued on May 13, 2026. The announcement follows an earlier notice dated May 11 regarding the congress.

The GBIMC also released the approved filing fees for all elective positions ahead of the polls.

– The presidency will cost GHC10,000

– 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President positions are set at GHC5,000 each

– Executive Board Members and Treasurer positions are GHC3,000 each

All aspirants are required to pay the full filing fee on or before the day of submitting their completed nomination forms within the stipulated filing period.

Nomination forms will be available for purchase at GHC500 at the Accra Sports Stadium daily between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. from Thursday, May 14, to Monday, May 18, 2026, excluding weekends. Association heads or duly mandated executives presenting delegates can also procure delegate forms within the same timeframe.

The GBIMC said instructions for candidates and detailed election modalities will be outlined in the official forms.
