It was a tense evening at the Olympic Stadium as Ghana’s top sprinters, Benjamin Azamati and Abdul Rasheed Saminu, took to the track for the semi-finals of the 100m dash. Both athletes had their sights set on a spot in the final, but only the top performers would make the cut.

In Semi-final 1, Azamati gave it his all, but his competitors proved too strong. He crossed the finish line in a blistering 10.17 seconds, narrowly missing a top spot. He finished 9th, just 0.02 seconds shy of the qualifying time.

Meanwhile, in the same semi-final, Saminu was also giving it his all. His powerful strides ate up the track, and he finished 7th with a time of 10.05 seconds. Though he had beaten Azamati’s time, he too fell short of the qualifying mark.

Despite missing out on the final, Azamati and Saminu’s performances marked a promising milestone for Ghanaian athletics. They had proven themselves to be among the world’s top sprinters, and their times would serve as a benchmark for future generations of Ghanaian athletes.
