Team Ghana has received a massive diplomatic boost at the ongoing All Africa Senior Badminton Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
Following the colourful opening ceremony, Alhaji Mohammed Ibn Abass, Deputy Head of Mission at the Ghana Embassy in Cairo, paid a special visit to the Golden Shuttlers at their camp.
The Deputy Head of Mission, who visited on behalf of H.E. the Ambassador of Ghana to Egypt, interacted with players and officials and delivered a message of solidarity, encouragement and support from the Embassy and the Government of Ghana.
In his remarks, Alhaji Ibn Abass assured the team that the Ghana Embassy and the entire Ghanaian community in Egypt are firmly behind them. He urged the team to stay focused, united and to give their all as they seek to defend their African title.
“We are proud of you. The whole Embassy is behind you. Go and make Ghana proud,” he stated.
The leadership and players of Team Ghana thanked the Embassy for the visit and support, promising to fight for every point and defend the crown.
Team Ghana remains motivated and ready for battle.
