The 16th Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship climaxed successfully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
The championship, organized by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) with sponsorship from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, brought together young talents from across the country to compete in Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (forms).

In a show of dominance, Greater Accra Region emerged as the Overall Best Regional Team, continuing their supremacy in the competition.
The event, which is Ghana’s premier junior Taekwondo competition, saw thrilling fights and technical displays of Poomsae across the Cadet and Junior categories.
The championship was graced by H.E Park Kyongsig, Korean Ambassador to Ghana, who applauded GTF President Frederick Otu Lartey and his executives for their commitment to using Taekwondo as a tool for youth development and for strengthening Ghana-Korea relations.

Mr. Frederick Otu Lartey, President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation, expressed gratitude to the Korean Ambassador for his continuous support.
“Together with my executives, we are ready to help and improve the standards of Ghana Taekwondo,” Mr. Lartey reiterated.

The championship also serves as a talent identification platform for the national youth teams ahead of upcoming international competitions

- Best Female Cadet Kyorugi Athlete: Ramatu Salifu (Greater Accra)
- Best Male Junior Kyorugi Athlete: Ismael Halid (Greater Accra)
- Best Female Junior Kyorugi Athlete: Afua Otuo (Western Region)
- Best Male Poomsae Athlete: Yoofi Aggrey-Fynn (Greater Accra)
- Best Female Poomsae Athlete: Sitta Tornyevah (Greater Accra)
