Incumbent Ghana Taekwondo Federation President Frederick Lartey Otu has been cleared by the Independence Vetting and Election Committee to contest for a third term in the upcoming GTF Executive Board elections.
The committee announced the decision after conducting online vetting of all candidates on Sunday, July 12, 2026 via Zoom at 2:00 PM.
With his eligibility confirmed, Lartey Otu will appear as number 1 on the ballot paper for the polls scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Independence Vetting and Election Committee, chaired by Mr. Lawrence Osei-Boateng Esq. of the Ghana Free Zones Authority. Other members of the committee are GOC Secretary General Mr. Mohammed Muniru Kassim Esq. and Hussein Akueteh Addy from the National Sports Authority. Cynthia Wintima serves as Secretary to the Committee.
A total of 27 delegates are expected to cast their votes on Saturday to elect members of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation Executive Board who will serve for the next four years.
The 2026 congress is expected to shape the future direction of the sport, with focus on grassroots development, international competition, and athlete welfare.
Lartey Otu, who is seeking a third term, will face competition from other candidates whose names were also confirmed after the vetting exercise.

The GTF elections are being conducted under the supervision of the committee to ensure transparency and compliance with federation statutes.
