The Eezzy Group Foundation on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, donated an astonishing GHS 800,000.00 to Team Ghana to support preparations for the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The presentation ceremony, held at the La Palm Hotel in Accra, comes at a crucial time as athletes, coaches and officials intensify preparations for the Games scheduled for July 23 to August 2, 2026 in Scotland.
Chief Executive Officer of Eezzy Group Foundation, Mr. Mohammed Raii, said the donation was inspired by Africa Paralympic Committee President, Mr. Samson Deen.
“Thank you I have to say to Mr. Samson Deen, the president of Africa Paralympic, who has opened our eyes to come to this event and propose this. My foundation name is Eezzy. I like things to be very easy,” Mr. Raii said.

He challenged Team Ghana to target gold and make the country proud.
“There are 36,700,000 Ghanaians in Ghana. Wherever you are, you have to make everybody proud of you and bring us number one. I don’t want any middle. I want the world to talk about you. And when you come number one, I want other companies, other foundations to be jealous of Eezzy Group and come and support you as well,” he added.
Mr. Raii also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as efforts to extend the government’s “resetting agenda” to sports.
1st Vice President of the Commonwealth Games Association Ghana (CGA), Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, described the donation as timely and thanked Mr. Samson Deen for his intervention.

“The challenge we’ve had as a people is that there is so much potential, there is so much talent all around us. But turning that talent into proven quality that excels at the highest level has been very difficult, primarily because of the lack of resources. Talent is always raw. You need to process it for it to become a shining light. I mean, it’s the same with diamonds,” Mr. Afadzinu said.
He commended Eezzy Group Foundation and called for more corporate support.
“We pray that your work will be easy in this country. Our responsibility as corporate partners is to give our youth reason to believe, reason to hope and reason to be assured that Ghana is a space where they have the right to dream and where there is a Ghanaian dream. Thank you for supporting the Ghanaian dream.”
Africa Paralympic Committee President, Mr. Samson Deen, urged athletes to remain focused and disciplined in camp.

“Discipline is the only answer to success. Don’t eat too much. Be measured. Don’t speak to your girlfriends and your boyfriends. Be disciplined. Sleep at the right time. Just target the podium. That is what I’ve been telling my athletes,” he said.
“We are here to honor you. It’s difficult, but we are doing everything to get you there. Please be disciplined. Go and make Ghana proud.”
