Manchester City has made a major splash in the January transfer window by signing Ghana international Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for a reported £65 million, a record sale for the Cherries.

The 26-year-old winger has signed a contract until 2031 and will wear the number 42 shirt, previously worn by Yaya Toure, a three-time Premier League winner with the club.

Semenyo expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City, citing the club’s high standards, world-class players, and facilities, as well as manager Pep Guardiola’s greatness. “I am so proud to have joined Manchester City,” he said. “My best football is yet to come; I am sure of that”.
The London-born winger bid farewell to Bournemouth with a stoppage-time winner against Tottenham, showcasing his impressive skills. Manchester City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, praised Semenyo’s quality, humility, and work ethic, stating that he’s an “ideal” signing for the club
