Moses Mbila has been named the official team captain for Ghana’s delegation for the upcoming 3rd Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18/U20 championship in Nigeria.

The championship is scheduled to take place from July 16th to 20th, 2025, at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta with 44 countries participating.
Captain Mbila will lead a team of ten talented athletes in the competition.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mbila expressed his gratitude to the technical coaches for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading his colleagues.
“I’m honored to be chosen as team captain, and I believe we have a strong team that can deliver and win more laurels,” he said.
Mbila’s experience as a U-20 100-meter athlete will undoubtedly be an asset to the team.
The Ghanaian team is made up of promising young athletes. Moses Mbila will compete in the U20 100m event, while Tettey Philip Odjer will participate in the 200m/400m. Saabuno Evans is set to take on the 1500m, and Boateng Appiah Alex will compete in the 100m/200m. Arthur Mahalaleel Kwasi will run the 110m hurdles, and Opoku Godfred will participate in the 200m/400m.
The female athletes include Janet Kwarteng, Esther Manu, Latifah Haruna, and Jane.
