Mr. Mohammed Mahadi, President of the Ghana Fencing Association, has been appointed Africa Sport Director for Fencing by the International Fencing Academy. Mahadi’s appointment follows a meeting with the General Secretary of the International Fencing Academy in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The meeting aimed to outline a roadmap for developing fencing in Africa, focusing on women’s sports, officiating officials, coaching courses, and grassroots fencing. Mahadi is tasked with creating a model tailored to Africa’s needs and overseeing its implementation.
Mahadi emphasized the importance of good leadership in sports development. He expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and pledged to work towards achieving the set objectives, making Ghana and Africa proud.
