The 5-day Basic Athletics Coaching Course, organized by the Ghana Athletics in collaboration with the National Sports College, is set to conclude on Friday, November 29, 2024, in Winneba.
The course, which commenced on Monday, November 25, has provided young coaches with valuable knowledge and skills in athletics coaching. On day four, the coaches underwent an engaging session on Sports Psychology and periodization, led by facilitator Julius Baba Apidogo, Director of the AAMUSTED Sports Directorate. The afternoon session focused on the practical application of the concepts learned in the classroom.
As the course draws to a close, the final day’s session will focus on injury prevention. Coaches will learn techniques to avoid injuries among their athletes, ensuring they can provide the best possible guidance and support.
Upon completion of the course, all 40 participating coaches will receive certificates, marking a significant milestone in their coaching development.
This initiative underscores the Ghana Athletics commitment to developing the skills and knowledge of coaches, ultimately promoting athletics in Ghana.
