The Ghana Football Association and Metro Mass Transit Limited have announced a partnership to overhaul transportation for the national teams, domestic clubs and supporters across the country.

The agreement was unveiled on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the GFA headquarters in Accra.

Under the deal, Metro Mass Transit will provide a fleet of safe, insured and roadworthy 54-seater buses dedicated to the Black Stars, other national teams, Ghana Premier League clubs and teams in all leagues under the GFA. The arrangement is expected to improve travel logistics while raising standards of safety, reliability and convenience.

Trained and licensed drivers will be assigned to handle transport for clubs, officials, supporters and other stakeholders. MMT will also offer discounted fares on its travel and cargo services for match officials, clubs and GFA staff to ease operational costs.

A key part of the partnership is the launch of the Fan Transport Programme, designed to improve the matchday experience. Supporters will have access to organized bus services with designated pickup and drop-off points, making it easier and safer to travel to and from venues. The initiative aims to reduce travel difficulties and encourage higher attendance at league and national team games.

Fans will also be able to reserve transport online through a joint digital platform developed by the GFA and MMT, allowing them to book transport and match-related services in one place.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku described the agreement as a turning point for football logistics in Ghana.

“The collaboration represents a major milestone in the modernization of football logistics in Ghana,” he said. “By combining reliable transport infrastructure, fan-centered mobility solutions, digital systems, and dedicated services for clubs and national teams, the partnership is poised to transform how football travel is managed across the country while strengthening support systems for the game at every level.”

He thanked MMT Managing Director Kale Caesar for the company’s commitment and leadership in bringing the partnership to life and acknowledged the work of MMT’s management and staff.

Caesar said the deal aligns with MMT’s mandate to serve Ghanaians through reliable transport.

“As a transport company built to serve the people of Ghana, we understand movement. We understand access. We understand reliability. These same values drive performance in football,” he said.

He confirmed that MMT will provide buses for fans and officials and that tickets and transport can be booked online via the new portal with the GFA. Caesar also announced plans to provide an ultra-modern executive luxury bus for the Black Stars and other national teams.

The company is currently expanding its fleet, with 100 new buses set to be rolled out as part of national transport improvements aligned with government policy. Referencing President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy agenda, Caesar said MMT was ready to keep businesses and stadiums running late into the night.

“Football thrives when fans show up. We intend to play our role in making that happen,” he said.

With Ghana preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, Caesar stressed the need for institutional support behind the Black Stars.

“Ghanaians expect results. The expectations are clear. The Black Stars must compete strongly. The target is not participation. The target is the medal zone.”

The partnership marks a shift toward more professional logistics and fan engagement in Ghana football, combining transport infrastructure with digital innovation and institutional backing.
