Medeama SC sealed the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title in emphatic fashion on Sunday, thrashing Heart of Lions 5-2 at a packed Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.
Backed by a jubilant home crowd, the Mauve and Yellow delivered a five-star performance to clinch their second league crown with a game to spare.

Braces from Kelvin Obeng and Derrick Fordjour powered Medeama to victory, while Prince Owusu added the fifth goal to spark celebrations in Tarkwa. The win moved the club five points clear at the summit and returns the Premier League trophy to the mining town for the first time in three years.
The triumph also extends the Western Region’s dominance of Ghana football. League titles have remained in the region for a fourth consecutive season, following successes by Medeama [2022/23], FC Samartex 1996 [2023/24], Bibiani Gold Stars FC [2024/25], and now Medeama again.
Medeama’s title was confirmed after Dreams FC’s 3-1 victory over their opponents at the Tuba Astro Turf, which mathematically ended any remaining challenge to the Mauve and Yellow’s lead.
The result caps an impressive campaign for Medeama, who have been consistent contenders since their first title win in 2022/23.
