Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s cricket captain Obed Harvey has dismissed notions of pressure mounting on Team Ghana as they prepare to take on the best in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier B.

Speaking at the captains’ press conference at the Cricket Oval, Harvey emphasized the team’s focus on the task at hand, drawing on the wealth of experience within the squad.

“I wouldn’t say there’s so much pressure. Most of us have gained a vast amount of experience. The more you play cricket, the more you become better,” he said.

Harvey highlighted the team’s preparation and strategy, stating, “Every team here has their own way of playing. And we also have our own way of playing. So, we have put in some good work. And I know very well that the squad that we have is really, really looking forward to creating major offsets.

“With a top-two finish the objective, Ghana takes on Seychelles in their opening match tomorrow at the Achimota Cricket Oval. Harvey urged a game-by-game approach, saying, “We want to take it game by game, starting from tomorrow. So, hopefully, we start off on the right foot and we’ll keep the momentum going forward.”

The competition runs from March 24 to 29, with Ghana facing stiff competition from Eswatini, Tanzania, Malawi, St. Helena, and Seychelles.
