The National Sports College (NSC) has thrown its weight behind the 2026 Aboakyer Festival, lending its support to the vibrant celebrations in Winneba. The Director of the NSC, Mr. Fuseini Bawah, led a delegation of management members to the launch event, held at the invitation of Neenyi Ghartey VII, Omanhen of the Effutu Traditional Council.

In his address, Mr. Bawah expressed the College’s enthusiasm for being part of the festival, highlighting the institution’s commitment to promoting sports development in the region. “We are excited to once again be part of the Aboakyer Festival,” he said. The NSC has pledged to support the celebrations through various sporting activities, including Triathlon, Athletics relay, Boxing, and marathon events.

The Aboakyer Festival is a significant cultural event in Ghana, showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of the Effutu people. The NSC’s participation is expected to boost sports tourism and promote healthy competition among locals.
