The World Husna Federation (WHF) officially demonstrated its unique martial art, Husna, at the Ghana Police Sports Festival held at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on December 31, 2025.

Founder and President of WHF, Mohammed Mahadi, expressed excitement about showcasing Husna, a Ghanaian-born combat sport, to the police service. “We join the police service to celebrate the end of 2025 and showcase Husna martial arts, preparing for an upcoming league for security services,” he said.

Husna is a combat sport born and bred in Ghana by Master Mohammed Mahadi and was officially launched at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra in 2009. Al-Husna has 5 disciplines within the art, namely: Uhud Ar-rumat (Mountain of Archery), Fathi (Conqueror/Opener), Al-battar (The Swords of the Prophets), Qisas (Historical Movement), and Safaa and Marwa (Twin Strike). Safaa and Marwa is a movement of trial and tribulation which involves a double strike for breakthrough or success in the face of challenges using the hand and leg.

The WHF plans to introduce Husna to other security services, having already trained the immigration service. Mahadi thanked Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno and ASP Bernice Rashida Timbilla, director of police sports, for their support.

“Husna is a combat sport that unifies humanity,” Mahadi said, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to showcase the sport. The WHF looks forward to collaborating with the police and other security services to promote Husna martial arts.
