The General Manager of Accra Great Olympics, Mr. Eric Alagidede, has expressed his determination to lead the club back to the elite league in Ghana for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. In an exclusive interview with Obu Sports, Mr. Alagidede shared his vision for the club’s future.

“We are working towards bringing Great Olympics back to the Premier League, and it starts now,” Mr. Alagidede stated. “We are focused on our mandate, and the mandate is to return one of the greatest clubs to the elite division as quickly as possible. And I think the mission is on course.”
Despite being in Division One, Mr. Alagidede believes that Great Olympics is more than prepared for the 2025/26 season. “We are very well prepared,” he said. “We had a good pre-season, playing high-profile games against Premier League clubs like Gold Stars, Samartex, Vision, and Basakae. The experience has been good, and we’re ready for the season.”

When asked about the target for the season, Mr. Alagidede was unequivocal. “The target is for us to return to the elite division,” he said. “In 2026, Inshallah, the Olympics will be back in the Premier League.”
Mr. Alagidede also emphasized that every team in the zone poses a threat to Great Olympics’ qualification for the Premier League. “All the other 15 clubs are a threat to us,” he said. “We treat every game as important as it is, and we won’t underrate any club.”

Great Olympics will kick off the 2025/26 season by playing away to Inter Allies at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Monday, September 29, 2025.
