Ghana’s Wrestling Team Excels at President Ouattara Tournament

Ghana’s wrestling team has brought pride to the nation, winning four medals at the President Ouattara Wrestling Tournament in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite being a small contingent, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, competing against 15 African countries.

Ghana’s delegation consisted of athletes Fuseini Issah (100+kg), Philip Twumasi (+73kg), and Princess Setordzi (57kg), accompanied by official Ibrahim Alhassan Jihad.

The team’s impressive performance yielded the following medals:

Fuseini Issah: Gold in Beach Wrestling and Bronze in African Wrestling (men’s 100+kg)-

Princess Setordzi: Silver medals in both Beach Wrestling and African Wrestling (women’s 57kg)

The tournament, held from August 22 to 24, 2025, was in honor of President Alassane Ouattara. Ghana’s medal haul included one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal, totaling four medals.
