Team Ghana Returns Home After Historic Debut at African School Games

The final batch of Team Ghana’s delegation for the maiden African Schools Games in Algeria has returned to Ghana, marking a triumphant end to their historic debut. The team arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 12:24 PM aboard Egyptair.

Ghana’s contingent comprised 60 members, participating in 12 sporting disciplines out of the 21 featured at the event. The sporting disciplines that represented Ghana included:

  4. Beach Canoe
  5. Beach Volley
  6. Boxing
  7. Cycling
  8. Judo
  9. Swimming
  10. Taekwondo
  11. Tennis
  12. Table Tennis

The team made a significant impact, winning an impressive 14 medals across six sporting disciplines. This remarkable achievement secured Ghana’s 10th place on the medal table among 50 participating countries.

    • Badminton – Girls Doubles: Adu Moslena Ama Korama and Quarcoo Racheal
    • Badminton – Mixed Doubles: Adu-Mintah Obapomba and Adu Moslena Ama Korama

In a significant development, Abuja, Nigeria has been confirmed as the host of the 2nd edition of the African School Games in 2027, while Kenya will host the 3rd edition in 2029. Team Ghana’s historic debut sets the stage for future successes in this prestigious event.
