The stage is set for Wisdom Boxing Promotion’s highly anticipated event, “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” scheduled to take place on Friday, February 28th, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The official weigh-in took place on Wednesday at the Ring Garden Restaurant, Bukom Boxing Arena, where Ghana’s Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey and Nigeria’s Lukman Akinolugbade faced off ahead of their main event bout.
According to Sarah Lotus Asare, matchmaker for Wisdom Boxing Promotions, the decision to pair Allotey with Akinolugbade was a deliberate one. “We had three opponents lined up for Allotey, but they all backed out. Lukman, on the other hand, has fought in Ghana before and has a reputation for being a formidable opponent.”

Dr. Ofori Asare, CEO of Wisdom Boxing Promotion, expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Boxing Authority for sanctioning the event. “We’re committed to promoting boxing in Ghana and making it a hub for international competitions. We believe that with events like this, we can attract top talent from across Africa and beyond.”

Abraham Kotei Neequaye, President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, praised Wisdom Boxing Promotion for their consistency and dedication to the sport. “Wisdom Promotions have been in the boxing business for a long time, and they’ve done a lot to promote the sport in Ghana. We’re happy to sanction this event and support their efforts.”

The two boxers, Allotey and Akinolugbade, exchanged words during the press conference, with Allotey confident of his abilities and Akinolugbade vowing to put on a show for the fans.
“I’m not afraid of my opponent,” Allotey said. “I’ve fought international boxers before, and I know what I’m capable of. I’m going to teach him a lesson.”

Akinolugbade, on the other hand, promised to give the fans a thrilling performance. “I’m going to fight to the fullest and give everyone a great show. I’m not here to joke around.”

The event, which features 20 bouts on the card, promises to be an exciting one, with fans urged to come early and grab their tickets to watch some good fighting.
As Allotey put it, “If Lukman is really here to win, then he must prepare to die.”
