Tunis, Tunisia – Ghana’s table tennis team got off to a mixed start at the ITTF-Africa Cup, with Israel Aklie and Joanita Borteye displaying great promise in their respective matches.

In the Men’s Singles Group 3, Israel Aklie faced a tough opponent in ELBEIALI Mohamed of Egypt, ultimately losing 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-4). Despite the loss, Aklie’s performance showed glimpses of his potential, and he will be looking to bounce back in his next match.

In the Women’s Singles Group 6, Joanita Borteye put up a valiant fight against TAHMI Hadjer of Algeria, but ultimately lost 3-2 (11-8, 11-6, 6-11, 5-11, 3-11). Borteye’s performance was impressive, and she will be seeking to build on this experience in her next match.

Later today, Cynthia Kwabi will take on PATEL Danisha of South Africa in the Women’s Singles Group 7 at 5:30 PM. Kwabi will be looking to make a positive impact in her first match, and Ghanaian fans will be eagerly awaiting the outcome.

Aklie and Borteye will also be in action again later today, seeking to make amends for their earlier losses and bring glory to Ghana.
