Baffour Awuah Released on Bail Over Kotoko Fan’s Murder

Former Labour Minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah has been granted bail in the amount of GHC 500,000 with two sureties in connection with the murder of a Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan ¹. Baffour Awuah, who faces charges of “abetment to commit crime, to wit murder,” is required to appear before the Sunyani District Magistrate Court B on February 17, 2025.

Another suspect, Joseph Kyeremeh, has also been granted bail, while Agyemang Duah Owusu, the third suspect, has been remanded in police custody. The arrests are linked to the violent disturbances that occurred during a league match between Nsoatreman F.C. and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Nsoatre, Bono Region.

As part of his bail conditions, Baffour Awuah must surrender his passport to the court registry for 14 days and is prohibited from traveling outside the Sunyani Municipality without court approval.
