The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) held its Annual Congress at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium Conference centre on Saturday, January 25. A key decision made during the congress was setting a new date for the elective Congress, which will now take place on April 26.

Initially, the election was scheduled for March 15, but GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah cited conflicting events like the ANOCA election and Winter Olympics. He proposed moving the election to the first or second week of April to allow new leaders to start on a fresh note. Former GOC President Professor Francis Doodo suggested an alternative date in the first week.

Following deliberations, Ghana Athletics President Mr. Bawah Fuseini moved a motion to set the elective Congress for April 26, allowing the administration ample time to resolve outstanding issues before the election. The motion was seconded by Ghana Rowing and Canoeing President Mr. Kamal Sulley.

The Congress also approved a three-member team to ensure a smooth election process. The team comprises Former Ghana Boxing Association President Peter R. Zwennes Esq, Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Treasurer Ibrahim Ali, and D.C.O.P Lydia Donkor, all of whom were unanimously agreed upon by Congress.
