Ghanaian Armwrestling sensation Grace Mintah has been nominated for not one, but two prestigious awards at the upcoming SWAG Awards. Mintah has been shortlisted for the Sports Personality of the Year, as well as the Armwrestling Female Puller of the Year award, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in 2024.
Mintah’s impressive year saw her win two gold medals at the 13th African Games, dominate the female heavyweight category at the Friday Night Armwrestling Championship, and make history by becoming the first Ghanaian to win a gold medal at the World Armwrestling Championship in Moldova.
Her historic victory in Moldova marked a milestone for Ghanaian Armwrestling, and cemented Mintah’s status as one of the sport’s leading lights.
The SWAG Awards, organized by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, aim to recognize and honor outstanding sports personalities, teams, and officials who have made significant contributions to Ghanaian sports.
Mintah’s double nomination is a significant achievement, and she will be hoping to add to her trophy cabinet when the awards ceremony takes place on January 24, 2025.
