The Ghana Athletics, in partnership with the Ghana Interschool Festival (GIF), successfully hosted an athletics championship for over 10 private schools in Accra.

The event, which took place at the University of Ghana main stadium on Saturday, November 9, 2024, aimed to identify and nurture potential athletes from the participating institutions.

The championship featured both male and female athletes competing in the 100M and 4×100M events.

The competition was fierce, with students showcasing their speed, agility, and teamwork. The event provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talents, gain valuable experience, and potentially get discovered by coaches and scouts.

The partnership between Ghana Athletics and GIF is a strategic move to develop and promote athletics in Ghana, particularly at the grassroots level.

By engaging private schools, Ghana Athletics led by Bawah Fuseini hope to tap into a vast pool of untapped talent and provide opportunities for young athletes to grow and develop.

Ghana Athletics and GIF are committed to continuing this initiative and expanding it to include more schools and events. The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable platform for young athletes to develop their skills, compete at the highest level, and potentially represent Ghana in international competitions. The Ghana Athletics Association, in partnership with the Ghana Interschool Festival (GIF), successfully hosted an athletics championship for over 10 private schools in Accra.
