Benin Dominates 4 Nations Veteran Table Tennis Championship

On September 28, 2024, Ghana successfully hosted the 4 Nations Veteran Table Tennis Tournament at the Trust Sports Emporium, Gamashie Hall. The event featured teams from West Africa, including Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and host nation Ghana.

The competition comprised four age categories: 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60+ years, and 50-59 years men’s team. Benin dominated three out of the four events, except for the 40-49 years category.

In the 40-49 years category, Ghanaian players David Ashong and Edem Hayford Esiam contested the final, with Ashong emerging victorious, defeating Esiam 3-0 to claim the gold medal.

Benin’s dominance was evident in the 50-59 years category, where Sunday Kenouezan defeated compatriot Martin Ganye 3-0 in the final.

In the 60+ men’s category, Benin’s Wakilou Dine triumphed over Tiburce Ajovi to win the gold medal.

The men’s 50-59 years team event saw Team Benin defeat Team Ghana in the final, securing another gold medal and solidifying their dominance in the 2024 4 Nations Veterans Table Tennis Championships.
