Left back Esmat Abdalhamid Hassabalbagi is set to miss an extended period after undergoing successful foot surgery for an injury he picked up in our last Premier League game against Young Apostles.
The club’s medical team, upon arriving in Kumasi, conducted further assessments on what initially looked like a minor knock. However, the test results indicated that Esmat, who has been a regular on Ogum’s team for our last two games, would require surgery.
The operation was done today, September 27, 2024, under the supervision of expert surgeons at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and the left back is expected to be out of action for a period of six weeks.
Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, reacting to the news of Esmat’s, said,
“Obviously, it’s a setback for all of us. Injuries are inevitable in our sports, but we were hoping it wasn’t something bad, but whatever it is, we just have to face it and plan accordingly, and again, to wish him a speedy recovery. I know Esmat is a tough guy, and I believe he can recover in time.
