The 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Samuel Takyi believes that the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBFA) influences the selection of boxers during the Olympic Games qualifiers, He argues that they do not choose the right boxers to represent Ghana, which is why we fail to deliver.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Samuel Takyi insisted that Coach Ofori doesn’t have any hand in selecting boxers to represent Ghana.
“I think the right people are not selected for qualification because the coach there doesn’t select people himself; they select the people for him, and I think those people are not the right ones. The right people have to be selected to represent Ghana”.
Samuel Takyi won Team Ghana’s first Olympic medal since 1992 in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
