Nsoatreman FC has secured its maiden MTN FA Cup title by defeating Bofoakwa Tano 5-4 in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of play.

Richard Dzikoe put Bofoakwa in the lead in the 21st minute. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Bofoakwa Tano. Nsoatreman FC came in strongly in the second half, pushing and pressing high to get the equalizer. In the 79th minute, Sadat Mohammed leveled for Nsoatreman, making it 1-1. Both sides pushed for the win in regulation time, but it was not fruitful.

The game went into 30 minutes of extra time, but neither team scored the winning goal, resulting in a penalty shootout to decide the winner.

With the score tied after three penalties apiece, Nsoatreman FC goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu made a crucial save on Bofoakwa Tano’s fourth attempt, giving his team the upper hand. Needing only to convert their remaining two penalties to secure the championship, Nsoatreman FC did just that, becoming the 9th club in the 21st century to lift the FA Cup trophy.

Nsoatreman FC will be representing Ghana in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup.

Nsoatreman FC’s head coach, Maxwell Konadu, stated that the team will prepare rigorously for African competition, acknowledging its challenging nature. He further announced plans to bolster the squad with talented players, aiming to surpass Dreams FC’s accomplishments.
