Botswana’s men’s 4x100m relay team is on the verge of qualifying for the Paris Olympic Games

At the 23rd African Senior Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon, Botswana’s 4x100m relay team made history, setting a new national record and positioning themselves favorably for qualification to the Paris Olympic Games.

The Botswana 4x100m quartet, comprising Thapelo Monaiwa, Mothusi Boitshwarelo, Tumo Van Wyk, and Letsile Tebogo, powered to a national record of 38.19s at the African Senior Athletics Championships, knocking the Netherlands out of the 16th spot. The Netherlands had previously occupied that spot with a time of 38.30s. This time puts Botswana in a position to qualify for the Olympics.
