FC Nania’s captain, Kojo Zimbo, had an incredible season in the Access Bank Division One, Zone Three.

The defender played 29 out of 30 games in the 2023/24 zone three, starting every match except one, when he was substituted in the 75th minute against Vision FC in the week 20 fixture at Nii Adjei Okraku II Sports Complex. He missed only one game, an away match against Accra Athletic in matchday 16 at the Tema Sports Stadium, accumulating a total of 2,595 minutes played.

As a defender, Kojo Zimbo managed to score 7 goals and was a joint top scorer for Nania, alongside Peter Fiifi Hammond. Three of his goals came from free kicks, two from penalties, and two from headers.

The following teams were his targets in the season: He scored twice against Akatsi, both home and away, twice against Golden Kick, also home and away, and scored against Kotoku Royals, Uncle ‘T’ United, and Still Believe.

Zimbo’s outstanding performance won him four Man of the Match awards against the following teams: Attram De Visser, Akatsi All Stars, Golden Kick, and Still Believe FC.

Kojo Zimbo expressed how satisfied he is as a player and described the season as amazing, singling out the match against Hohoe United on match day four as the most difficult game he played in the 2023/24 Access Bank Division one season.

“This season was amazing for me, and it’s the best season I’ve had in the Access Bank Division One League. I needed to do better than last season, but it wasn’t easy either. I faced some difficult matches, but the most difficult one was against Hohoe United on match day 4 at the Hohoe Sports Stadium.”

He guided his team to reach the round of 16 in the MTN FA Cup by eliminating Danbort FC from the preliminary round, Accra Hearts of Oak from the round 64 at the Pobiman Sports Complex, and Great Olympic from round 32 at the Tema Sports Stadium. He was adjudged the best defender against Danbort FC, voted the best defender and player against Hearts of Oak.
