Ghana’s Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson has named his final 21-player squad for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, scheduled for September 5-27, 2026.
Ghana, who are in Group C alongside France, Ecuador and South Korea, will be chasing history as they seek their first-ever knockout stage qualification after seven previous appearances.
The final list comes with major changes after seven key players were ruled out through injury, including influential captain Linda Owusu Ansah (ACL), goalkeepers Grace Andoh, Asana Osman and Jenna Kayla Sarpong, as well as forwards Mary Amponsah and Mercy Attobrah.
Coach Sampson has handed opportunities to new faces, with a strong defensive department led by experienced Alexandra Tay, Diana Amoako and Margaret Agyapomaa.
In midfield, Esther Asamoah Yiadom, Latifa Musah and Sarah Nyarko will be tasked with controlling games, while the attack will be led by in-form Jennifer Dawah, Agnes Yeboah and Priscilla Mensah alongside exciting talents Ivy Owusu Osei and Angelina-Jude Nlongohne Yinbia Akanyirige.
In goal, Najat Salam is expected to be number one, with Precious Akanguwie and Ruth Agudu Sebbie as cover.
