Senegalese Football Federation Slams CAF Decision, Vows to Take Fight to CAS

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has strongly condemned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Board’s decision to award Morocco a 3-0 win over Senegal in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 final, calling it “unfair, unprecedented, and unacceptable”.

In a scathing statement, the FSF denounced the ruling, claiming it brings disrepute to African football. The federation has announced its intention to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, in a bid to defend Senegal’s rights and interests.

“The FSF reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the values of integrity and sporting justice,” the statement read. The federation has pledged to keep the public informed of developments in the matter.

The CAF Appeals Board’s decision overturned an earlier ruling by the CAF Disciplinary Board, citing Articles 82 and 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations Regulations. The FSF’s appeal to CAS marks the next step in the federation’s fight against the decision, which has sparked controversy in African football circles.
