Charles Osei Asibey, the current President of the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA), has formally announced his candidacy for a new term as AFA President. In a statement released on March 2, 2026, Asibey said he has filed his nomination to contest the presidential election.
Asibey, who has served as AFA President for the past four years, highlighted his achievements in strengthening the federation’s structures, expanding participation, and boosting Africa’s visibility in global armwrestling. He emphasized the need for deeper institutional reforms, improved compliance standards, and structured development support for member federations.
His campaign priorities include:
- strengthening governance and institutional frameworks,
- expanding competitive platforms and youth development,
- enhancing women’s participation and inclusion,
- building strategic partnerships and sponsorships for member federations.
Asibey called on Ghanaian supporters and the African armwrestling community to back his vision of a stronger, unified, and globally competitive Africa armwrestling movement.
