A Moroccan court has sentenced 18 Senegalese football fans to prison terms ranging from three months to one year for their involvement in violent incidents during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

The High Court of Rabat handed down the verdicts, with nine supporters receiving one-year prison sentences and fines of approximately $500 USD each, six supporters getting six-month sentences and $200 USD fines, and three supporters receiving three-month sentences and $120 USD fines.
The judge followed the prosecutor’s recommendations, and relatives described the verdict as harsh, with one inmate collapsing after hearing the decision. The sentences are immediately enforceable under Moroccan law.
