The Ghana Badminton Association (BAG) on Friday, February 6, 2026, organized a Coaching and Technical Officiating Course at the Borteman Sports Complex in Accra, aimed at enhancing the skills of new coaches and technical officials.

The course, which attracted 64 participants from across the country, covered the basics, theory, and practical aspects of the game.

BAG President, Mr. Evans Yeboah, stated that the course aligns with the association’s four-year strategic plan to train 600 coaches and 174 technical officials by 2032.

“This course is part of our mission to take badminton to every part of the country,” Mr. Yeboah said. “We’re building capacity to ensure our coaches and officials can effectively develop the sport in schools and communities.

“The course participants included teachers and badminton enthusiasts eager to learn and promote the sport.

The BAG plans to expand the program to other regions, including Tamale, Sunyani, Kumasi, and the Volta Region, in April and May.

According to Mr. Yeboah, the initiative will equip participants to educate kids and develop badminton in their communities, ultimately growing the sport nationwide.
