Ghana is set to host the 15th African Armwrestling Championships, scheduled to take place in Accra from April 29 to May 3, 2026.

The event, officially confirmed by the Armwrestling Federation of Africa, will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 African Games in Cairo, Egypt.
This will be Ghana’s third time hosting the African Armwrestling Championships, following previous editions in 2018 at the Hathramanai Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium and 2023 at the GNAT Hall. Venue for the 2026 edition is yet to be announced.

Ghana has had notable success in the championships, winning 88 medals in 2018 (31 gold, 32 silver, 25 bronze) and 132 medals in 2022 (47 gold, 55 silver, 30 bronze). Nigeria topped the 2025 edition in Abuja with 101 medals (28 gold, 35 silver, 38 bronze).
The 2026 championships will gather top pullers from Africa, setting the stage for an exciting competition.
